"Vocalist on the rise" and "Indian Diva" are just the beginning of a vehement cascade of quotes and buzz around Hindi Singer Falu. Pouring talent, Falu has mastered the challenge of astonishingly blending Indian traditional ragas with Western popular music, giving birth to her band of the same name which plays music that they describe as Hindi Indie Rock. One of Falu's most stunning performances just happened a few days ago at the Time 100 Gala where she performed in front of the one hundred selection of Time Magazine's most influential people which not surprisingly included Lady Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey.
On the other hand, her list of musical collaborations outstandingly includes hip artists like Wyclef Jean, Yo Yo Ma, Widespread Panic and Slumdog Millionaire film composer AR Rahman, among others.
A contemporary fusion of an earnest classically trained singer who could mantain perfecting her craft for up to 16 hours a day with a leak of legendary bands like U2, Ella Fitzgerald, Radiohead and the Beatles, Falu belongs to the precious list of gems in New York City.
